Okay, so these two...where do I start!?
I met Lynn a few months before their wedding at Saint Barnabus. She is such a sweet and tender-hearted lady. I just adore her. As she was telling me about Michael...him being a musician and how fun and down to earth he is, I was excited to meet him. Then she casually mentions that he played guitar with Alice Cooper! I was like...WAHHH!!!?? Side note: my hubby plays guitar and LOVES all things rock and roll...as well as Alice Cooper. So, yeah.
This session actually took place a month before the big day in Scottsdale near the art center. Lynn couldn't decide on a wedding dress for her photos (what is a girl to do!?), so we did this session first.
Their Downtown Scottsdale Session
I've shot tons of engagements and pre-wedding sessions, but these two—there was just something about them. Maybe because they aren't twenty-somethings and they know who they are. It was really refreshing and sweet to photograph a couple so comfortable in their own skin.
Downtown Scottsdale gave us the perfect urban backdrop—art center vibes, clean lines, lots of character. Lynn and Michael brought the authenticity, and that combination made for photos that actually feel like them. Getting to shoot both this pre-wedding session and their actual wedding day was such a gift. By the time their Saint Barnabus wedding rolled around, they were already comfortable in front of my camera, which made everything flow so naturally.
Tips for Pre-Wedding Sessions
Don't Stress the Dress: Lynn couldn't decide on her wedding dress in time for photos, so we shot this session first. It took the pressure off and gave us beautiful images before the big day.
Downtown Scottsdale Works: The art center area has great backdrops without feeling overly desert-y. Perfect for couples who want something urban and artistic.
Being Yourself Matters More Than Age: Lynn and Michael's maturity and authenticity made this session special. They knew who they were, and it showed in every photo.
