Desert Mountain Senior Photographer | Kelsi

Anyone who shows up to a photo session barefoot and wearing a flowy dress automatically becomes my favorite kind of client. Kelsi's session was proof that when someone's relaxed and just themselves, the photos take care of themselves. I could've shot her all day, that's the vibe we're going for.

North Scottsdale Senior Photos

Her family welcomed me to their gorgeous home in north Scottsdale, and honestly, the setting did half the work. Desert Mountain area homes have this incredible natural backdrop that you just can't replicate anywhere else. The light, the landscape, the clean modern architecture, it all worked together without trying too hard.

Desert Senior Session in Arizona

I love shooting seniors at their own homes when the setting allows for it. There's something more authentic about capturing someone in their actual space rather than dragging them to some random location. Kelsi was so comfortable and easy to work with that the whole session felt more like hanging out than working.

Tips for Relaxed Senior Photos

  • Wear what feels like you. If you're not a heels and blazer person, don't force it. Kelsi nailed it with the barefoot-in-a-dress look because that's actually her style.

  • Use your home if it works. If you've got good light and a decent backdrop, your house or yard can be an amazing location. Plus you're already comfortable there, which shows in the photos.

  • Don't overthink it. The best sessions happen when people stop worrying about posing perfectly and just exist. I'll handle the technical stuff you just be you.
