Gilbert Backyard Wedding Photographer | Joe & Kiana
Where do I even start with this one!? Joe and Kiana's stunning Gilbert backyard wedding so thoughtfully planned out...with custom wood painted sign's, beautiful lighting and excellent food. It was a dream to photograph! It was a wonderful follow up to their river-side engagement session we shot months back. If everyone decided to be married in the backyard, I'd be totally okay with that!
Ah! The first look. I love these moments—it's like their faces can't smile big enough. And then the moment Joe sees Kiana's sunburn! They'd spent those final hours in the sun the day before getting everything perfect, and Kiana ended up with quite the burn. But Joe's reaction? Pure love and laughter.
Joe and Kiana worked tirelessly for months getting their house ready for this spring celebration. They created something incredibly personal—every detail reflected who they are as a couple. The custom signs, the lighting strung across the backyard, the thoughtful touches everywhere you looked.
Their Spring Backyard Wedding
I loved how Kiana incorporated a beautiful color palette of pinks, purples and blush for her bridesmaids dresses, as opposed to everyone wearing the exact same thing. It really gave them the freedom to choose something they love and it all came together picture perfect!
The reception boasted the best succulent details—centerpieces that felt very Arizona but elevated and intentional.
Husband and wife!!!
Post nuptial group selfie....yes, please!
Just incase you've never seen a roasted pig served at wedding, now you have! (I completely agree with Kiana's expression!)
Thank you, Joe and Kiana for the privilege of being there on your wedding day! It was fabulous and certainly one I will never forget!
Tips for Backyard Weddings
Plan Ahead: Joe and Kiana worked for months transforming their backyard. Give yourself time to create the space you envision.
Personalize Everything: Custom signs, DIY details, your own backyard—this is where backyard weddings shine. Make it completely yours.
Embrace What Makes You Different: From mixed bridesmaid dress colors to a roasted pig dinner, Joe and Kiana leaned into what they actually wanted, not what weddings "should" look like.
