Superstition Mountains Engagement Photography | Katie& Isidro
Make up - done, hair - done...and then the clouds roll in.
But hey, Its Arizona...it never rains! Until it does.
Katie won her engagement session through a drawing I offered, and I'm so glad she did. When we checked the weather the morning of their shoot at the Superstition Mountain Museum, rain was rolling in. We almost canceled—but Katie had the best attitude. "I'm in if you are!" Heck yes, let's do this.
The rain held off just long enough, and honestly? Those grey skies turned out to be absolutely gorgeous. The moody clouds added so much drama to their photos, and the soft light was perfect. Katie and Isidro were super fun to shoot and so affectionate with each other—the kind of couple that makes my job easy because their connection is so genuine. We had a lot of laughs ducking for cover between shots and embracing the unpredictability of it all. Because after all, it's Arizona...it never rains. But when it does, sometimes you get the best photos.
This location never disappoints! The Superstition Mountain Museum gives you mountains, desert, and Western charm all in one spot just 30 mins from Gilbert or Chandler!
Tips for Arizona Engagement Sessions
Embrace the Weather: Arizona weather can be unpredictable, especially during monsoon season. Don't let a little rain scare you—some of the most beautiful photos happen under moody skies.
Trust the Process: The best sessions happen when you're willing to go with the flow. Katie and Isidro's adventurous attitude made all the difference.
Pick Meaningful Locations: Whether it's Superstition Mountains, the Salt River, or somewhere totally different, choose a spot that feels like you.
