Queen Creek Wash Senior Photos | Class of 2026 | Abbey

Abbey's mom is a friend of mine, and I always love getting to photograph the kids of people I care about. You learn so much about someone by meeting their children. It's like getting to know my friends all over again! Abbey, like her mom has a sweet and kind disposition. She was excited about having her photos done…loved the energy she brought.

Queen Creek Wash in March

March in Arizona is the sweet spot and Queen Creek Wash in the late afternoon is exactly what you want for a senior session. The light comes in warm and low, and the landscape is doing something totally different than it does the rest of the year. We're talking overgrown cottonwood trees, tall grass, winding dirt paths. It's got this wild, untouched feel that you just don't get at a lot of locations around here.

Abbey had a vision going in. She knew she wanted the tall grass and honestly, I was fully on board. When a senior shows up with an idea of what they want, the session has direction before it even starts. We found exactly what she was looking for and then some.

What I Loved About Shooting Abbey

She was genuinely excited to be there. That sounds simple but it actually makes a huge difference. Some seniors are a little hesitant or unsure, and that's totally normal, but Abbey just came ready. Sweet, warm, easy to be around. Her heart shows up in her face and that's not something you can manufacture.

I really enjoyed getting to meet her. She's the kind of person you feel like you've known longer than you actually have, and I left that session really grateful I got to be the one to document this season for her.

Tips for a Queen Creek Wash Senior Session

1. Come in spring. March and April are ideal. The cottonwoods are full, the grass is tall, and the temperatures are still manageable. By May it starts to dry out fast.

2. Lean into the natural textures. This location isn't manicured and that's the whole point. Flowy outfits, soft colors, and simple styling photograph beautifully against all that overgrown wildness.

3.Tell me what you love. If there's something specific you're hoping to walk away with, say it before we start. The session goes a lot better when I know what matters to you.

If you have a senior coming up and want something that feels a little more like them and a little less like everyone else's session, let's chat →
