Gilbert Wedding Photographer | Jade & Abel at Redemption Church

Jade and Abel getting married at Redemption Church in Gilbert wasn’t just another wedding day for me — it was deeply personal. I’ve known them for years and had a front-row seat to their relationship as it grew, shifted, and settled into something steady and full of joy. So when I showed up, I wasn’t just documenting a wedding — I was documenting people I love, in a space that has mattered to all of us.

Their day felt exactly like them: joyful without being performative, meaningful without being heavy, and genuinely fun from start to finish. From a first look that included a quiet ring exchange to a reception where laughter mattered more than tradition, every part of the day reflected the way Jade and Abel show up in the world…fully, warmly, and with their people at the center.

A Gilbert Wedding Day at Redemption Church

Redemption Church in Gilbert isn’t just a venue for Jade and Abel — it’s been their home church for years. So the room wasn’t filled with distant acquaintances or plus-ones; it was full of people who actually know them. Friends, family, and a whole lot of familiar faces who’ve walked alongside them through different seasons of life. The day felt deeply personal in that way; relaxed, joyful, and grounded…like a celebration that grew naturally out of real community rather than something carefully staged.

January weddings in Arizona are hard to beat, and this one delivered. Soft winter light, a few clouds rolling in late in the day, and comfortable temperatures made portraits feel relaxed and unhurried—no rushing, no squinting, no heat-induced stress.

A Reception That Didn’t Take Itself Too Seriously

The reception was where the fun really showed up!

Instead of rushing through formalities, Jade and Abel leaned into connection and play. They used a photo booth to take photos with every single guest—which doubled as both entertainment and a meaningful keepsake. Add in musical chairs, the shoe game, and an upbeat, entertaining first dance (including Jade dancing with her mom), and the night felt more like a celebration than a schedule.

This wasn’t a wedding where people sat politely at tables. It was one where people stayed, laughed, and joined in.

There’s something different about photographing a wedding when the people and the place both feel like home. Jade and Abel’s day was full of familiar faces, real laughter, and moments that didn’t need to be forced. Some wedding days stay with you. This one will always be one of mine. Jade and Abel, I love you both and couldn’t be more grateful to have witnessed and documented this chapter.
