Gilbert Family Photographer | Agritopia Orchard | The Fishers
The Fisher family session reminded me why I love shooting families from my church community. There's already a comfort level there, and the kids aren't looking at me like "who is this stranger with a camera?" It makes everything feel more natural and less forced. We met at Agrtiopia Orchard in late December and was the ideal location, not only because the leaves gave real fall vibes, but the weather was perfect! One of the perks of living in AZ ;)
Their Agritopia Orchard Session
We met up at Agritopia Orchard in early December, right when the leaves were doing that perfect fall thing where they're half on the trees, half on the ground. Late afternoon light filtering through the orchard?…perfection! The kids were in full "let's climb everything and run in circles" mode, which honestly made for some of the best candid shots. You can't force that kind of genuine chaos.
Agritopia is one of my go-to spots for Gilbert family sessions because it's got that rustic farm vibe without feeling overly posed or staged. The orchard setting gives families room to move around, explore, and just be themselves. For a family of six with energetic kids, having space to let them burn off some steam between posed shots is key.
Tips for Your Agritopia Family Session
1. Embrace the mess. Fall at Agritopia means leaves, dirt, and kids who want to touch everything. Don't fight it—let them play with the leaves and enjoy the setting. Those messy, real moments are the ones you'll want on your wall.
2. Time it right. Late afternoon gives you that golden hour glow without the harsh midday sun. Plus, it's usually cooler, which helps when you've got little ones who overheat easily.
3. Wear layers. December in Arizona is unpredictable. Start with layers so you can adjust as needed—especially if your kids run hot (or cold, or both within ten minutes).
