Ten years. I've been photographing the Batoons for a full decade now, and honestly? They just keep getting better.
We met up at Agritopia's orchard in Gilbert for their fall session, and like always, they showed up ready to have fun. This family genuinely enjoys hanging out together. Even the teenagers, which if you know anything about photographing teens, is kind of a miracle.

Agritopia at sunset is already gorgeous, but add in a family that's willing to be goofy and you've got magic! Awkward poses included, because why not? Donovan and Danielle actually like each other which as a sibling myself, I respect. After ten years of annual sessions, I know what works for this crew. They're up for anything, which means we can try whatever random idea pops into my head...or theirs! Some families need a lot of direction—the Batoons just need to be themselves and the photos happen.
Tips for Fall Family Photos at Agritopia
Timing is everything. Sunset at Agritopia hits different in the fall. The light through those orchard trees is golden goodness!… but you've got to plan for it. We're talking golden hour magic.
Dress comfortably. We're walking through an actual working farm. Cute shoes are great, but functional shoes are better. The Batoons nailed it with casual fall outfits that looked pulled together.
Bring the energy. Agritopia gives us tons of options for variety, so come ready to move around and try different spots. The more relaxed you are, the better your photos turn out.
